Love to go fishing while having a weekend break with your family? Treat them to a picnic den at Brookfield Lake, where you can relax, and at the same time enjoy your favourite hobby.

Brookfield Lake is an elongated reservoir surrounded by woods and close to a nearby golf course. The lake is open for course fishing and mostly abundant in breams and carps. Other than these fish, there are also other sizable catches, such as tench, pike, crucians, perch, and roach. Brookfield Lake offers comfy fishing platforms distributed alternatively around the bank, and has accessibility for disabled anglers. However, the northern part of the bank is only available on a day ticket. An interested angler or tourist must purchase the tickets in advance, since only 20 day pass tickets are released each day. They can be bought at the Simpsons Tackle Shop, Burford. Facilities, such as toilets, parking areas, and refreshment areas, are on site. Fishing in the summer (16 June to 30 September) is open from 4 a.m. until 10 p.m., while during the winter (1 October to 15 March) it is open from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m.

The fishery prohibits night-fishing, barbed or bent hooks, pre-baiting, and hooks bigger than size six. Chemical-based baits, boilies, peanuts, keepnets, and sacks are also banned. In addition, the Brookfield Lake is affiliated with the Kings Arms & Cheshunt Angling Society, and actively encourages family and junior memberships.
