Fly-fishing is a well-known sport among fishing activities. Individuals are able to take part in the activity as well as whole families. The following is one of the new venues for fly-fishing, waiting to be discovered.
Puddleduck Fishery, also called “Snake Lake,” consists of two still water lakes which cover 3.5 acres and are set in beautiful woodland scenery. The fishery is a half-mile drive south of the Freystrop Village which is three miles south of Haverfordwest. The fishery’s main stocks consist of plenty of sizable blue, brown and rainbow trout.
The Puddleduck Fishery usually opens at about 6 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. during the summer time and has accessible toilets and refreshment areas. You can avail a day ticket on its banks as well as sporting tickets. Fishing gear is also available in the fishing tackle shop, which supplies everything an angler needs for fishing, such as bait, rods, reels and nets. However, there are some restrictions that need to be followed; for instance, only a 2lb and above or a matured trout is suitable for a catch. Some anglers use a size six or eight hook for trout fishing. It is also advisable not to use a long fishing rod and stiffer line for less difficulty in struggling with a catch.
