The Dragonfly Fishery is a lake-type fishery located on the A51/4 mile in the west portion of Cerrigydrudion. The fish caught in the area are the various species of trout, including tiger trout, rainbow trout, brown trout, and blue trout. Some of the recent catches are the 11l b (4.99 kg) common carp by Chris Payne on 2 February 2009, the 12.5 lb (5.67 kg) pike by Steve Marsh on 24 January 2009, and the 6 lb 12oz (approximately 2.72 kg) by Kevion Clark on 21 December 2008. The nearest shop to purchase fishing tackle is Rowlands Sbaner A Hanner shop located at 9-11 Tegid Street BALA LL23 7UR. The fishery allows several fishing techniques, including spinning applied by Jim Friedhoff in catching the 9 lb 6oz (more or less 4.08 kg) sea-trout on 3 April 2006, the bait method used by Rhys Llywelyn in catching pike on 15 August 2008 which weighs 15 lbs (6.08 kg), and the pennel rig squid applied by Lee Qmahagan on 3 May 2008, when he caught a 11 lb thornback ray. Hints and tips for successful and satisfying fishing in Dragonfly Fishery consist of using snake flies as bait for night fishing, starting to fish immediately after sunset, and checking the tide table and moon cycle.
The fishery further provides river level data that shows online viewing of the river level. The online data helps fishermen plan their trip to the fishery by guiding them as to the appropriate tackle to bring.
